The American Iranian Council is led by a distinguished group of academics, policymakers, and business professionals. These influential individuals sit on either the Honorary Board, the Board of Directors, or the Advisory Council. The Honorary Board of Directors helps to increase AIC’s visibility, prestige, influence and reach. The Board of Directors determines strategic direction, mission, goals and objectives of AIC. They oversee and manage affairs of AIC, vote on matters that come before the Board, and provide guidance and support to the President and Executive Director. The Advisory Council provides advice and suggestions to the President concerning strategic direction, mission, goals, objectives, and affairs of AIC. AIC's leadership also serves on functional Committees, respective of their profession and experience, designed to foster improved organizational decision making.

The Honorary Board of Directors helps to increase AIC’s visibility, prestige, influence and reach. The Board provides advice and suggestions to the Board of Directors and President concerning strategic direction, mission, goals, and objectives of AIC. Honorary Board Members do not have any voting powers or managerial duties. Members are invited by the Nominating Committee based on their international experience and outstanding position.
